Honeypot Guerrilla

Honeypot wanted developers who had never heard of it to remember the name, so we went to a competitor's conference. The bear was the centre of the brand system, so he went on everything: coffee cans, cards, an AR version of himself, a costume, and the video that took the day online. I drew the bears and designed the cans and cards.

01

The bear at the centre

Everything hung off one character. He started as a pencil sketch of the whole family in one drawing, each bear wearing a programming language, before he went anywhere near a can. The clip is the illustration in progress.

02

One can per language

Free coffee, and a bear dressed for Python, Rails, Java or JavaScript on each can, so developers went looking for their own.

Six cards, and a bear that comes to life

Each language got its own card. On the back, a QR code to honeypot.io/catch brought your bear to life in augmented reality.

Someone else's conference

We took it to a competitor's event: cans in the hands of attendees, the bear in costume, and a social video that put Honeypot in the middle of their conference for everyone who wasn't there.
